About the YS Kids Playhouse

YSKP is a one of a kind experience putting youth on the ground floor of an artistic endeavor with big themes and big ideas. The ineffable effect of creating all original work includes ownership and excitement of doing something-playing a part-that none have done before. It’s a step into the unknown, the future, and it engenders the ability and the confidence to creatively reach a goal as a team and a community. Our plays seek to achieve an aesthetic understanding of the complex times in which we live. Whether focusing on social behavior, historical events, teen culture, the environment, or small town life, YSKP productions metaphorically explore the question: How do we live? – John Fleming, YSKP Founder and Artistic Director

Hi, I'm Greta

Hello, my name is Greta. I'm in the Y.S.K.P. (Yellow Springs Kids Playhouse) production of The Cotton Club. If you haven't seen Y.S.K.P. in Yellow Springs, Ohio, you should come and check us out. We put on shows for the community and visitors, this year July 7-10 and 14- 17. Our Director, John Fleming, has made it a tradition to do "never-done-before" plays, and this one is original as well. My character is the Old Hostess, or Gertrude Black. Our rehearsal schedule is Mon.- Fri., and during these hours we work hard to develop our character's individual personalities, such as our walks, how we talk, and what we think about other characters. I hope you can spare a couple of hours to come and see us! We try to make it as realistic and entertaining as we can! For more information, visit our website at www.yskp.org. Thanks!
